Here is our patient’s testimonial:

“After many years of suffering from bladder leakage, I was able to have bladder surgery to correct the issue. However, I was very disappointed that the surgery didn’t completely correct my condition as I was still experiencing some bladder leakage after using the restroom. My doctor suggested pelvic floor physical therapy. Although I was somewhat skeptical that it would help, I was even more nervous about what it would entail; I was especially nervous that it might be very invasive or overly intimate in the process. When I arrived at Advanced Physical Therapy Center in Grand Blanc, I was warmly greeted by the front desk staff. This was the first step in calming my nerves about being at physical therapy. Front desk personnel may not realize it, but they are truly the first impression that patients receive when entering and I was so thankful for this!

Then, I met my physical therapist, Amy Kennedy. She was so warm and friendly, and I was especially happy to find that she had a private office with a closing door since I had not idea of what to expect at my visit. I sat in a chair while Amy took a thorough history of my bladder issues, and I was able to express how distraught it made me that surgery had not completely fixed my issues. Amy patiently listened to me and reassured me that she would work with me to resolve these issues for good. She explained the anatomy of my issues and began working with me to address my concerns. And much to my happy surprise, pelvic floor therapy was not at all intimate or invasive! Amy taught me the techniques and exercises I would need to learn and each visit she assessed my progress and added techniques that would lead to my success.

I am so thankful that I took the step to try pelvic floor physical therapy. My only regret was that I didn’t try it before I had surgery! I cannot thank Amy enough for all she taught me! I finally feel that I have my dignity back and I would recommend this therapy and specifically Amy Kennedy to anyone struggling with pelvic floor issues!”
