Matt Smarkanic , PT, DPT

Matt joined the Phoenix Physical Therapy team in September of 2020, and presently serves as a Staff Physical Therapist at our Pottsville clinic. 

Matt has experience treating patients with a variety of conditions including orthopedics, neurologic, post-surgical, vestibular/balance, workers compensation, and sports rehab. He utilizes an individualized approach for each patient to meet their goals, taking into account each patient’s prior level of function so he can get them back to the activities that they enjoy. As a former college baseball player, Matt particularly enjoys treating our local athletes. At your physical therapy session with Matt, you can expect a hands-on approach with manual therapy as you progress toward improving your movement and decreasing your pain. 

Matt currently resides in Schuylkill County. When he is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family and in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and golfing.
