Devin Day, DPT

Clinic Director

My professional philosophy is always to put the patients first and give them the best experience they can have. In today’s healthcare, they often get only 5 minutes with their doctor and don’t feel like they are listened to, so I like to give them the time to tell their story and reassure them that we can help them through their challenges. I am a very hard worker and often take on more responsibility with scheduling and other aspects of the clinic to make it work more efficiently and have patients seen as quickly as possible.

My patient care philosophy is to make sure the patient feels like they are being listened to and cared for without feeling like they are a burden. I take the time to assess all of the patient’s symptoms, explain the anatomy of their pathology, as well as diagnosing and treating. Many times the patients are uneducated about their conditions or symptoms before coming to therapy, which causes a large amount of anxiety and disconnect for them about and from the healthcare system. I try my best to make them a participant in their care by discussing their goals and prior exercise routines and incorporate this into their plan, so they feel like an active participant in their program. This is the best way for them to get the most out of therapy as well as allow them to continue their programs after being discharged.

Devin Day joined Phoenix in March of 2015 while doing her last clinical affiliation at the clinic and has been here for the past 4.5 years. Her clinicals in college were outpatient, acute care, school-based pediatrics and rehab facilties but loved outpatient the most. Specializing in vestibular rehab, she is well versed in general outpatient rehab as well. Devin has been published in Physical Therapy in Sports with “Development of a Preliminary Evidence-based Neuromusculoskeletal Exercise Guidelines to Reduce Injury Risk in the Lower Limb,” co-written with Dr. Michael Lehr.

Devin resides in Adams County in Biglerville. She lives with her husband, David, on about 2 acres and grew up on an apple farm. Outside of the office, she enjoys crafting, baking, playing rec softball and hunting. She also enjoys spending time with her family and has a soccer-loving dachshund named Buster. She is also a member of the Leadership Planning Committee for our Adams County Relay for Life and is very passionate about raising money for this cause.
