Julia Krahm, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Julia received her bachelor’s degree from Furman University, a Masters in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from American International College. She has worked in the health and fitness field all her life, initially starting in corporate fitness, ergonomics, and moving into rehabilitation. Once she started working in rehabilitation, she knew she wanted to be a Physical Therapist and it was time to go back to school!
Julia has worked in all physical therapy settings, but her primary experience and love is outpatient physical therapy working with both orthopedic and neurological conditions. Julia is hands on and incorporates a lot of manual therapy into rehabilitation. She sees herself as a partner with her patients, listening to their experience and feedback, with a focus on treating not just the symptoms, but the underlying cause. She gently reframes patients who believe “no pain no gain” and instead her goal is you feel better after therapy!
Julia has specialty certifications in dry needling, spinal manipulation and training in therapeutic cupping. She believes therapy continues outside the clinic: it is important to educate patients on exercises at home as well as overall health including the importance of nutrition and sleep!
Julia grew up in Atlanta, spent years in Kentucky and Massachusetts before moving back to the south. Most recently she moved from Auburn to enjoy living on and playing in Lake Martin! She is in the process of become certified as a yoga instructor!
